Born in 1984 in Iran, Sara Rahanjam is a distinguished sculptor who has carved her path through the world of contemporary Iranian art. In 2007, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the Fine Art department at Tehran University, establishing a solid foundation for her artistic journey.
Sara’s artistic endeavors have been marked by numerous solo and group exhibitions that showcase her mastery of sculpture. In her solo exhibitions, such as “At the Border of Blue and Gray Sky” at Saless Gallery in Tehran in 2018 and “Mania” at Etemad Gallery in 2015, she has demonstrated a keen ability to convey emotions and narratives through her sculptural creations.
Her participation in group exhibitions both nationally and internationally has further solidified her presence in the global art scene. Noteworthy events include the 2023 group exhibition at the South Asia Institute in Chicago, the Leon Event Hall Grand in San Francisco, and the Xhoma Gallery’s “Made in Heaven” exhibition in Iran. Sara’s work has also gained recognition in publications like the Woman United Art Magazine in the Czech Republic and the Subo Art Magazine’s online group exhibition, “Illuminating the Beauty of Science.”
Sara Rahanjam’s involvement in various symposia, including the 4th Sand Sculpture Symposium in Tehran in 2012 and the 2nd Sand Sculpture Symposium in Babolsar in 2006, reflects her commitment to exploring diverse sculptural techniques and materials.
Her talent has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by the numerous awards she has received. Notably, Sara secured the first prize in the National Festival Urban Space in Mashhad in 2010 and the first prize in the 6th Festival Visual Art in Shiraz in the same year. Her work has also been recognized on an international level, with her participation in the 5th Beijing Biennial in China in 2012 and the 2nd International Biennial Mediterran in Croatia in 2010.
