Aline Geoffroy was born in Latakia in 1930 to a French Orientalist father and a Syrian mother. She completed her secondary education in Latakia and continued in Beirut where she obtained her Baccalaureate. Afterward, she studied photography and fine arts at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and attended some lectures on child psychology.
She continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome for nearly two years, focusing on topics representing ancient neighborhoods and antiquities, where she photographed the old part of Rome, Trastevere, beyond the Tiber.
She continued her journey by photographing the old neighborhoods of her city, Latakia, with its walls, shadows, faces of its residents, and various suggestions, in addition to a few neighborhoods and topics in some provinces. She also continued to draw various subjects in her studio located on Baghdad Street in her city.
The beginning in Latakia was somewhat difficult because people were not accustomed to seeing photographers in the old neighborhoods at that time, but her efforts quickly paid off as the residents of those neighborhoods showered her with kindness and care.
She is married to Ibrahim Nasri and has three daughters. She often prioritized her family over her artistic career, keeping her passion alive in her heart for moments of tranquility as her safe haven.
