Born in 1997, Aya developed a profound passion for culture and art at an early age, particularly leaning towards literature. This inclination led her to specialize in literature after completing her baccalaureate.
Having pursued French language and literature studies at the École Normale Supérieure in Constantine, Aya Bennacer dedicated few years to teaching French in high school. Alongside her teaching career, she embarked on a self-taught journey in painting.
Initially, she translated her literary influences into drawings, Over time, Aya evolved her style, shifting from making illustrations of her readings to creating her own imaginative beings.
Aya Bennacer’s artistic focus revolves around the essence of humanity, exploring the transformation of flesh into material and its interplay with the societal garments we adorn. Her artwork embodies a blend of familiarity and subtle strangeness, reflecting a unique realm that
challenges traditional perceptions of gender and internal identity through innovative deformations.
