Khadija El Abyad is multidisciplinary visual artist, born in 1991 in Agadir. She is a graduate of the Institut National des Beaux Arts, (Tétouan 2017) and holder of a Master’s degree in Cultural and Artistic Engineering at FLSH Ben M’Sik (Casablanca 2019).
Her plastic practice is essentially built around BODY SCREENS in various dimensions: the intimate, the cultural and the social. The notion of corporality is adopted by the artist as a character and support that enables her to translate her commitments to her social future. Her research is nourished by reflection on materials and objects that have a symbolic charge, in particular those that are an extension of or even produced by the body, such as hair…
Through performance, she experiments with these foundational elements as if they were notes on a score, playing radically with aspects of ‘’the body’s screens” and its social roots.
She has participated in the exhibitions: ”الفرقة, PRÄGEN, NUAGE”, Galerie Stihl Waiblingen (Stuttgart 2023). ”THE PROMISE OF A TRACE”, Malhoun Art Space, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair (Marrakech 2023).
