Mona Essam El-Din (b. 1989) is a visual artist and art instructor whose practice explores contemporary themes through drawing and painting. She held her solo exhibition August Rooms at Soma Art Gallery in January 2019.
Mona has showcased her work in numerous local and international venues, including Shelter (2024), Roznama 9 at Medrar (2023), the Fourth Edition of Art Cairo at the New Egyptian Museum (2023), Art D’Egypte (2022), Medrar for Contemporary Art (2021), Supermarket Art Fair in Sweden (2020), the Dammam Video Forum (2019), and My Favorite Things exhibition (2020). She also participated in the Babon Symposium with Add Art (2024).
She is the recipient of both the Roznama 5 and Roznama 9 Medrar Awards from Add Art. Mona holds a BA in Art Education (2010), an MA in Drawing and Painting (2016), and a PhD (2022), all from the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University.
In addition to her academic and exhibition work, Mona completed a one-month artist residency in Hurghada, where engagement with the local cultural context brought new depth and perspective to her artistic practice.
