Nour Taher is a Palestinian artist who was born and raised in Jordan. Her artistic journey started at Concordia University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 2008.
One of the central themes in her art is the exploration of self-identity and introspection. Through her self-portraits, she delves into the layers of her own existence, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of self-discovery along her side. Her ability to capture the raw emotions and vulnerabilities within her self-portraits resonates with audiences, creating an intimate connection that transcends personal boundaries.
Beyond self-portraiture, her work tells stories and portrays conversations she has experienced and observed that shaped who she is today. Her canvases become windows into both real and imagined worlds.
One major aspect of her work is establishing eye contact between her figures and the audience. This deliberate choice not only engages viewers but also encourages them to become active participants in the narratives she created. Her art serves as a medium for dialogue, a platform for the sharing of experiences and emotions.
Her passion for collaboration is another defining feature of her artistic career. She thrives on the energy of creative partnerships, frequently collaborating with fellow artists and creatives to expand the boundaries of her own work. These collaborations underscore her belief in the power of collective creativity and the significance of diverse perspectives in art.
