SWANA Chronicles

Rima Rezaiguia

Rima Rezaiguia simultaneously pursues her career as an architect, managing an engineering firm, and her work as a visual artist. Born in Annaba in 1985, Rima Rezaiguia joined the Higher School of Plastic Arts in Nord-Pas de Calais and graduated with a DNAP in 2016. She participated in several exhibitions in Annaba and Algiers.

“This back and forth between architecture and visual arts is indicative of my overall approach, which always moves from one point to another, from one thing to another. Thus, I seek the passage between the past, present, and future; between modernity and tradition; between the finite and the infinite; between good and evil. I try to show the continuity between the works created, exposing the transparency of this approach, and to translate, materialize these ideas into geometric forms. The world is a three-dimensional prism, and each facet breathes new life. Each facet is the mirror of another world, but the world is a whole, absolute and spiritual. My artistic practice is diverse. I use drawing, painting, sculpture, video, installation, and engraving.”
