Wiame Haddad

Wiame Haddad (1987) is a Tunisian, Moroccan and French artist and filmmaker. She is a graduate of the ESAD in Valenciennes and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre in Brussels. Her artistic work takes on the scope of a photographic and cinematographic study, constituting ethical and formal research. This research is accompanied by an aspiration for that which is not seen. The artist focuses on the bodies forgotten by History. It is around this excavation of the invisible that Haddad’s work takes shape. She develops artistic, photographic and cinematographic projects that carry within them the stakes of a tension of the body as a signifier of the political.

She has participated in various film festivals such as : Cinéma du Réel – Paris, (special mention of the jury), Tiff Toronto – Canada (2022), Open City Documentary London – UK (2022), Tout Court – Nuove Voci del Cineteca di Bologna – Italy (2023), Cosmic Rays Film Festival, USA (2023), Mur Murs Films Festival, USA (2023), Oumsiyat short film nights with Ettijahat, Beyrouth – Lebanon (2022), DocuMed Film festival – Tunisia (2023), etc.

Wiame Haddad also participated in many exhibitions as : 32bis, Tunisia (2023), Les Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles, France (2022) and the 18, Marrakech – Morocco (2020), Crac de Sète – France (2021). MACAAL Marrakech – Morocco (2019), Villa Empain, Brussels Belgium (2018), etc.
