 Yasmin Dasouki

Born in 1990, Yasmin Dasouki is a Palestinian artist and art educator. She holds a BA in Arts and Design from the University of Jordan. Her series of artwork are all expressive artwork of her emotions and experiences throughout her journey. Her work is filled with symbols, metaphors. Playing with the proportions, mediums, showing the rough lines alongside different textures. Yasmin always adds floral patterns in her work to symbolize resilience, hope, growth in her journey. She emphasizes on using strong rough lines and strokes to show the beauty of the rough textures to express herself. Over the years, Yasmin showed interest in mural painting and started taking on freelance mural projects. She also created her own signature abstract Arabic calligraphy that are transformed into unique jewelry pieces.

Dasouki is a mixed media artist with her playful style of exploring with different mediums and techniques on one artwork. Her process involves endless hours of color exploration and experimentation, researching different styles and combining them all together to create an amalgamation of creativity and beauty. She always adds her final strokes with relief paint to cement the texture of her artwork and give it a more grounding feel.
